Historic District
Fairhaven,
Eldridge, and Sehome Hill have all requested and
received designation as National Historic Districts, and several more
neighborhoods, including Broadway
Park, are in the initial
stages of the nomination process. If you would like to learn more about what it
takes to quality as a National Historic District, what the result of listing
are, and how you might help with the effort, please contact Heidi Wassan at 738-1363.
Broadway Park Median
Cornwall Park and the Letter Streets will receive funding to care for the
trees on the Broadway traffic islands and, among other things, plant about
1,000 bulbs. Thank you Noah Booker for getting this grant and
managing this grant for the neighborhoods. Although Noah, who is an
arborist and landscape designer, and Shannon, both of whom have landscape
design companies, are volunteering their time (including crew time),
volunteers, especially our neighbors on Broadway are needed.
FOUNTAIN DISTRICT URBAN VILLAGE MEETING
Thursday June 7, 7 PM at the Fountain
Community Church,
2100 Broadway at Halleck
(Enter from ramp in the church parking lot)
All neighbors, business & land owners are invited to
participate. It makes sense to encourage future infill housing in areas
where buses, shopping and other services already exist, as well as addressing
issues like parking, traffic calming and design aspects.
Come express your concerns and visions as we begin to jointly create a
proposal for an Urban
Village in the Fountain
District. This is an exciting time for the area and We want EVERY voice to be heard! Contact Katie Hinton 715-1276 or hinton4@earthlink.net
